Camping Guidance System Bavaria

Camping Guidance System Bavaria - Campingleitsystem Bayern

Camping in Bavaria is becoming increasingly popular. This means that during the peak season in some Bavarian camping destinations, spontaneous arrivals by campers hardly seem possible anymore. At the same time, however, even during peak times, there are camping regions in Bavaria or individual campsites that still have sufficient free capacity and could be used as an alternative.

The result: free spaces cannot be found, unnecessary search traffic in heavily frequented areas, personnel burdens at the campsites due to rejection of requests or forwarding of guests and frustration among the campers searching.

What was missing here: a reliable camping guidance system that shows spontaneous campers in real time which campsites in Bavaria have free pitches currently or the following day. In addition, for those who can plan for the longer term, information should also be provided about the occupancy rate of Bavarian campsites in the coming weeks and months.

In order for a guidance system to be accepted and used by camping companies and camping guests alike, it must be and remain free of charge for both sides and offer advantages for the company. The information must always be up-to-date and should cover the entirety or at least the majority of the offer.

In addition, the project should be integrated into other projects for digital visitor guidance in Bavaria, such as the Bavaria excursion sticker. In addition to excursion tips and event information, this website also offers live information on the traffic and parking situation as well as waiting times at popular attractions, mountain railways and lake shipping.

The camping guidance system will be another component in digital visitor management and could be optimally integrated with the other offers in the future.

Following the technical development of the Bavarian camping guidance system, the Bavarian Camping Industry Association (LCB) is now pleased about further major milestones in the project: Internal evaluations show that 85% of all Bavarian campsites are already listed on the website and around 50 of these companies are showing their availability. It is also clear that guests are already actively using the service to plan their vacation. The LCB is optimistic about the coming season and is convinced that the number of campsites showing their availability will continue to rise over the course of the coming summer.
