Do you want to get away from everyday life, recharge your batteries, breathe deeply, bathe in the forest or experience something with your children?
Then come visit us!
We, Julia and Steffen, are happy to welcome you to the Anderswo Camp. It is a beautifully situated piece of land at the eastern end of the Bavarian Forest National Park in the idyllic mountain village of Finsterau. Discover the wild nature of the Bavarian Forest and the adjacent Šumava National Park on foot, by bike or on cross-country skis directly from the site.
The campsite has been in existence since the 1970s and is therefore showing its age. Since May 2021, we have been modernizing the facility for you according to sustainable principles in order to breathe new charm into it. Just like Ralph Waldo Emerson said “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” the path is our destination. We would be happy if the destination of your journey was soon “somewhere else”.
A lot has already happened in the first year to enable you to enjoy pleasant, nature-oriented camping. Nevertheless, we will be busy here for many years to come, restoring and developing the place for you.
We are very happy that you are coming, even though there is still a lot to be done. Because fundamentally, we are convinced that such a place can only be brought to life by you – open people who laugh together, eat, exchange stories and, in the best case, leave as friends. And just a few steps further into the forest you will always find peace and relaxation in Finsterau!
In winter, a cross-country ski trail network of over 80 km awaits you directly from the site, as well as wonderful winter hikes. We also rent snowshoes, sleds and cross-country skis.

You can reach us via the motorways to Passau and Deggendorf. After that, there are still a few kilometers of beautiful country roads to negotiate until you reach us at the end of the world at over 1000 meters above sea level. Snow chains are a good idea in winter.
